We recently had the pleasure of heading to the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia which is most famous for its wine, cheese and generally relaxing atmosphere. Our visits are irregular but we manage to go when we can at least to buy some cheese, olives and of course WINE! Because we live on the Central Coast (which is a tourist destination in its own right) we’re only about an hour and a bit away which makes for a very relaxi9ng weekend away.
Strangely, our trips tend to coincide with our wine rack getting emptier 🙂
Anyway here are the photos from the Hunter Valley!
This major producer not only has wine, but also an amazing cheese shop. Make sure to try (and buy!) the “washed rind” cheese which is my favourite! All depends on taste of course 🙂
Unfortunately, I didn’t see any full wine barrels for retail sale!
There are a huge number of wineries so if you make the trip make sure you stop and try from a number of them. Quite a few have very specific wines they produce and the local atmosphere means the smaller cellar doors will give you some recommendations on some wineries that produce according to your taste.
